Ohio Christmas beer
While this isn’t a cookie pairing... YET. I
think a snicker doodle or some kind of cinnamon cookie
would go awesome with this fun beer.

It’s the Christmas season all bundled together into a pint. What's
extra special about this beer, and
their tradition, is you rim the pint glass as if it were a margarita, but
instead of salt, you use cinnamon and sugar. If you order this beer at a pub in
the Ohio area, you have to tell them you don’t want the cinnamon sugar.
The trick is to conserve the cinnamon and
sugar so you get some with every sip while still getting
enough to sweeten up every mouthful.
I think it takes at least 2 pints to perfect this, at your third one you are an
expert, and on your fourth you will most definitely start making some mistakes.
If you were to get your hands on an Ale that was full of
cinnamon and holiday spice, that ringing your pint glass with cinnamon and
sugar would be awesome.
An awesome Connecticut beer that you can do this with is Holiday Ale made by 2 Roads Brewery. On New Years Eve 2017, I purchased a growler of this Holiday ale and rimmed some glasses with cinnamon and Sugar and it was DELICIOUS. We compared the two beers both with the ring of sugar cinnamon blend. The 2 roads was a bit more malty and already a bit sweet compared to the Great lakes brew, so we all agreed that the sugar ring complimented the Great Lakes beer a bit better. However, the 2 roads holiday ale was awesome with the ring of yummyness around our glasses.
